First, let me say I've spent hours looking for this answer, but only found pieces of it. Perhaps I just haven't done the right searches? I did try.
At any rate, I would sincerely appreciate any help on the best way to go about get from a well-hacked 4.0.1b to the newest official DTivo release for an HDVR2.
bootpage says
root=/dev/hd4 dsscon=true console=2,115200 BASH_ENV=`mount$IFS-n$IFS/dev/hda16$IFS/mnt;echo$IFS/mnt/runmonte`
I did the hacking quite some time ago and have not been keeping up with the latest developments. I don't mind going "legit" on this machine as it's now my "overflow" unit as I have an HR20 as the main source for my new HDTV.
After the HDVR2 is updated, I may do some hacking after. I have downloaded a few slice sets off eMule, but I'm not really clear on what's the proper way to go.
Many thanks for any help.
Joe
