I've been running various noscamble patches and modules on different Tivos for years.
I was running the noscramble.o module on my my S1 DTivo (DSR6000). With the Instant Cake CD (Tivoweb, and various apps).
I just got Tivo's 3.5b software upgrade. It enabled initrd, wiped out my telnet, etc.
So I went in and killed initrd and reinstalled everything. Works perfectly. No problems.
However, even with noscramble.o working, I can't watch my old unscrambled video stored on the hard drive now. It simply doesn't work.
I've checked to see the noscramble.o module running. And even rebooted many times because I keep thinking it's an error of some sort. And it is recording unencrypted video now, so it's clearly "on" in some regard.
Also, I can still even extract the old video with tytool without an issue.
My LBA48 APPEARS to be working. It shows all 360gigs available on my Tivowebplus Info module. And I can download all of that old video
Also weird is that ciphercheck.tcl now claims some of my old files are encrypted. They are not. I can download and watch them easily. THIS INCLUDES EVEN NEWLY RECORDED VIDEO. None of it is encrypted. But, for whatever reason, it will not let me watch the old unencrypted video on my Tivo even though noscramble.o is safely running.
Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix that to watch all of the old shows without having to download them all? Maybe an actual kernal noscramble patch for the new 3.5b?
I posted this on the S1 Support forum, but I think this one might be more appropriate since noscramble.o is discussed here.
