Hey guys..

I tried to search but couldnt come up with any solutions to my particular problem. Everybody else was at a lower release than the current release, which was causing their Pending Restart problem.

I manually upgraded my TiVo (Phillips DirecTiVo Series 2) to 6.2a for the time fix about a week ago. It's been working great, but restarts every night at 2AM. I've checked the logs and it's definitely the Daily call doing it. My SwSystem/Active reports the latest version, but I cant figure out why it wants to restart.

SwSystem 3209946/11 {
ServerVersion = 2
DbMajorVersion = 7
DbMinorVersion = 110
DependentObjects = 690890/-1 690892/-1 690894/-1 690905/-1
DtvVersion = 75090

SpigotMaps = 3209946/12 3209946/13 3209946/14 3209946/15
TuikResourceStateTemplate = 3209946/16

Version = 2
Active = 1
IndexPath = /SwSystem/6.2a-01-2-301 /SwSystem/ACTIVE /Server/89631631
}

Here's all the SW that's on my TiVo:
6.2-01-2-151 tyDb 691122 03/11/07 00:14 696
6.2a-01-2-101 tyDb 3223759 03/13/07 02:29 700

6.2a-01-2-151 tyDb 3223761 03/13/07 02:29 700
6.2a-01-2-301 tyDb 3209946 03/11/07 00:14 724
6.2a-01-2-321 tyDb 3223762 03/13/07 02:29 700
6.2a-01-2-351 tyDb 3223763 03/13/07 02:29 700
6.2a-01-2-381 tyDb 3223764 03/13/07 02:29 700
6.2a-01-2-3F1 tyDb 3223765 03/13/07 02:29 700
ACTIVE tyDb 3209946 03/11/07 00:14 724

I was thinking of just dropping all of the 6.x files from the MFS database. Is that a good option? Any ill-effects? Any other ideas? It's probably something simple that I'm missing, but I can't figure it out.

One small note, I used to have 6.2-151 on my TiVo cause I imaged the drive from a HDVR2. While doing the 6.2a upgrade, I switched it over to the correct 301 version. Could this be causing the problem?

Have you read the "6.2a slices now in the stream" thread in the Series 2 Support forum. Chrised posted a script to fix the mismatch occurring in manually upgrade tivos, a mismatch between the version found in /State/ServiceConfig and /SwSystem/Active. Sounds like this fits your situation.

Search enough and you'll find many such scripts to fix this problem. Alldeadhomiez posted trashOldSw.tcl, back when folks were loading 4.0.1b slices onto their dtivos.

Ah! Yes, I do remember that now. I read that thread 2 weeks ago before I started upgrading them so I wasnt exactly sure what that file was for. Now I see its purpose ;)

Thanks a lot, going to try it out right now.

Did the trick. Thanks a lot. I knew it was something simple I was overlooking :) .. I actually looked in ServiceConfig before I posted but I guess I missed the "6.2a" part.
