Would an R10 power supply work in a series 2 Tivo? It has a different cord plug-in (3 prong mickey-mouse), but I have an R10 cord to go with it. It physically fits the case, but I don't know if it's electrically compatible.
For perspective, the reason I ask is for salvage purposes. I mutilated a cheap ebay R10 while learning to solder, and I need to determine which, if any parts are worth keeping.
Thanks

I was curious too, and had a DSR704 with a bad power supply, plus an extra R10 sitting around. It didn't do much of anything when the power cord was connected. Although the power flexi-link to the system board was physically the same, they must use different pinouts.
Maybe with an S2 TCD model, though from your sig it sounds more like you could use it for a spare for those other R10s. :)

Did you damage anything when you tried that? I've thought of measuring the voltages to see if the pinout is the same, but I was hoping to get someone's response that said, "It works, I tried it.", before going that far with it.
I'm getting away from these R10's. The hack support for them just isn't the same. There was an superpatch update for 6.2a within days of it's release. Not so for 6.1a. There's no bufferhack for R10's. The mrv transfer speed just isn't as good. The icing on the cake is the recent interest I've taken in running 6.3x on Series2 DTivo's. HME looks more interesting the longer I look at it. I'm thinking of slicing my units up to 6.3x once I have a better grasp of mfs_ftp, so that I can still mrv via movieloader.
