tServer Startup problems

Can anyone please point me in the right direction for solving a problem I have getting TyTools r104 tServer.tcl running. I copied the file as binary to the recommended directory (/var/hacks/). When I do an ls on the directory the file is listed as expected but when I try to run it I keep getting an error message stating that the command is not recognized? Is it possible that the copy on the Tivo is not actually binary? I am new to linux but I do have prior Unix experience so I have a fairly basic understanding of how things should work but I am at a loss at this point?

BTW: I have scoured most of the threads with no luck sofar with my particular problem.

You shouldn't be using 'tserver.tcl' - use the tserver binary found in either Jamie's mfs_* tools here (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39487) or Alphawolf's All-In-One binaries (tivotools) found here (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showpost.php?p=182691&postcount=1). Also, make sure it's chmod 755.
