Can I ftp the .tmf's to my desktop and back to a different TIVO? If so...do i need to transfer the xml files? I see there is a .ty recording the same size as the .tmf... I tried transfer the .ty but it crashed the tivo on playback and there was no recording info on the now playing list (ie... 1 hr long etc..) The description and such was there though. Thanks
Having a hard time finding a decent ftp client that doesnt use passive mode and can open multiple ftp sites

well..looks like using the tmf and xmls worked good. using filezilla but it uses only i connection at a time i believe.. any better ftp clients out there... rather transfer tivo to tivo

The tmf file actually contains the show info xml inside the file (it's actually a renamed tar file), so you don't need to transfer the xml file itself. I think most people's experience has been that transferring the tmf's instead of the ty's is more reliable.

Look for a client with FXP support. SmartFTP is the one I use. You connect to two tivos from your PC and drag and drop shows from one to the other.
