:)I have hacked the unit with instantcake 6.3 and PTV net HD 6.3x. I have network access and with the install of tserver and tytool 10R4 am able to extract video from the tivo to my pc. When I attempt to open the downloaded ty file it will not open. I then installed tyshow beta 17 and tryed to open the video. The computer immediately shuts down windows explorer. From my reading it is alleged that his condition is caused by the fact the the video is still encrypted. I tried the alphawolf telnet entrys to shut off encryption without success. I cannot tell if encrytion is still on since I cannot figure out how to do so. Do I need superpatch or some other program. It is all a bit confusing.

You can patch your tivoapp manually to disable encryption. The patch locations are listed here : http://dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51032 or update superpatch with the latest patch from the superpatch support thread. If you've tried patching any other way and encryption is still enabled, then it would probably be a good idea to revert to your virgin backup tivoapp (hopefully you made one) and then try again. Type ciphercheck at bash to see if encryption is disabled, provided you have alphawolf's ciphercheck binary in your PATH.

Thank you for your response. I have finally broken the encryption but must multiplex to view the video (which is not a problem).
What is a problem however is that the video is jerky runs smoothly for 30 seconds and the cycle repeats itself on an irregular basis Is this a tytool problem? How can I get the video to run smoothly?
