USB Backports

I'm running the 2.4.20 kernel, and the lions share of backports are for 2.4.40. I assume that I should use drivers for my kernel (2.4.20) could somebody direct me to them?? I'm admittedly timid about trying to upgrade the kernel.. just not familiar enough with this.. not only that. I'm concerned that my fiancee may face homicide (mine) charges if I screw this up:eek:

I don't know what that's supposed to mean. Grab the tarball from here (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?p=279211#post279211), crack it open and grab the modules from the 2.4.20 folder.
