Here's my situation. I had a seagate 200 gig hard drive klunk out on me on my hdvr2. I have a backup with winMFS. I tried to restore the image to my original 40 gig hard drive. When I put it in the tivo a severe error green screen came up several times followed by a reboot.

It eventually started working on its own I ran 51killer and all seemed good until I tried to transfer a show and it said it has no room to record. There is nothing in the now playing list. Settings show 0 hours for the tivo.

Any advise to get this working. I don't want to buy another hard drive 35 hours is plenty for where this tivo is located. I just want to keep this image because it has everything working the way I want.

Summary: MFSlive restore to smaller hard drive. Tivo now showing 0 hours of record time. Help.

Thanks for any advise.

Did you make the backup image after upgrading to the 200GB drive? If so, I'm surprised you were able to restore it to the smaller drive, although I haven't really used MFSLive to know if it's even possible.

If you used Alphawolf's 6.2small.mfs image then you'll probably get the error you described. Try running mfsadd on the drive and see if that expands it to the proper size.

At the end of the restore it said there was room to expand on the drive. I said yes and it did the mfsadd.
