I found a TrendNet TU-ET100 USB/Ethernet adapter at he local computer store. Can anyone here tell me if this specific one works with the backport drivers? and I'm sure its TU-ET100 and not the TU2-ET100 ... I need to know if this works before i go buy it. I ordered a USB200M via Ebay but it hasnt been shipped yet and its now friday so it will probably be past monday before i get it. Any comments?

The TU2-ET100 works well, but you might want to check as to whether the TU-ET100 is a USB 1.0 adapter. If it is, don't waste your money - the difference in transfer speeds is huge between USB 1.0 and 2.0, even with a 10/100 adapter.

its usb 1.1 but as for transfer speed i'm not worried right now because i ordered a usb 2.0 from ebay but it wont be here till next week and i need to get the tivo done now. but i'm curious is it a must to go Router > TiVo, or can i go laptop > tivo over ethernet... my reason for asking is does it require dhcp or is it set static ?
