Ok so I've had my DVR40 hacked for about 2-3 weeks with no issues. Today, while watching a recorded program, it randomly rebooted. It wasn't recording anything or doing any extraction transfers at the time. I checked the termperature once it finished booting and it was 43C: normal. The fan is running.

Then, a few hours later, same thing happened, same conditions: nothing recording or transferring, just watching a recorded show. Temp was fine again after it rebooted.

I'm running 6.2, superpatch67-all, 62sc.tcl to remove showcase tokens, and used MfsRubbishTree to remove these directories from mfs about 1 week ago:
MfsRubbishTree /AuxInfo
MfsRubbishTree /Clips
MfsRubbishTree /LeadGeneration
MfsRubbishTree /LinkTag
MfsRubbishTree /MenuItem
MfsRubbishTree /Package
MfsRubbishTree /Showcase
MfsRubbishTree /Showcases
MfsRubbishTree /ShowcaseIndex
MfsRubbishTree /ShowcaseIndex.temp
MfsRubbishTree /Star
MfsRubbishTree /DataSet
MfsRubbishTree /CaptureRequest

Today is the first time I have observed the reboot issue. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this, or what I can do to prevent/debug it? If it reboots while recording one of the wife's shows there will be hell to pay...

Look at the "kernel" or even "tverr" log in /var/log for clues. Easily accessible from "logs" in tivowebplus.

There is nothing in /var/log/tverr from oct 7th, latest entry is oct 4th.

This is what I found in /var/log/kernel right before the first reboot:
Oct 7 00:07:07 (none) kernel: !!!!WARNING: Needed 2 tries to set video STC to 0x05ccb790
Oct 7 00:07:08 (none) kernel: Before = 0x05c8fe3b, After = 0x05c8fe69
Oct 7 00:07:08 (none) kernel:
Oct 7 00:07:17 (none) kernel: !!!!WARNING: Needed 2 tries to set video STC to 0x066eca3a
Oct 7 00:07:17 (none) kernel: Before = 0x05d36802, After = 0x05d36830
Oct 7 00:07:17 (none) kernel:
Jan 2 00:00:16 (none) kernel: klogd 1.3-3, log source = /proc/kmsg started.
Jan 2 00:00:16 (none) kernel: Cannot find map file.
Jan 2 00:00:16 (none) kernel: Loaded 34 symbols from 5 modules.
Jan 2 00:00:16 (none) kernel: CPU revision is: 00005430
Jan 2 00:00:16 (none) kernel: FPU revision is: 00005410

This is the log before/after the second random reboot today:

Oct 7 18:59:26 (none) kernel: ApgManager Transition from state FAST_LOAD to FAS
Oct 7 18:59:35 (none) kernel: ApgManager Transition from state FAST_LOAD to FAS
Oct 7 18:59:48 (none) kernel: ....sending Timeout event
Oct 7 18:59:48 (none) kernel: ....sending Timeout event
Oct 7 18:59:48 (none) kernel: ApgManager Transition from state FAST_LOAD to STE
Oct 7 19:00:02 (none) kernel: ....sending Done event
Jan 2 00:00:16 (none) kernel: klogd 1.3-3, log source = /proc/kmsg started.
Jan 2 00:00:16 (none) kernel: Cannot find map file.
Jan 2 00:00:16 (none) kernel: Loaded 34 symbols from 5 modules.
Jan 2 00:00:16 (none) kernel: CPU revision is: 00005430
Jan 2 00:00:16 (none) kernel: FPU revision is: 00005410

Can't tell much from this, maybe its a problem related to the "!!!!WARNING: Needed 2 tries to set video STC?" But similar warnings were also there Oct 2-6th and I didn't observe the problem and it didn't reboot over those days judging by the log.
Also got this error on oct 2, it repeated many times:

Oct 2 04:00:00 (none) kernel: AddPesPacket: Not an audio PES packet
Oct 2 04:00:00 (none) kernel: continuationBytesM=0 len=592
Oct 2 04:00:00 (none) kernel: Packet 5: rbidx=58100 len=592 pesOff=-2

This is the most recent log entry after boot messges on the currently running tivo (after 2nd reboot today):Oct 7 23:49:07 (none) kernel: !!!!WARNING: Needed 2 tries to set video STC to 0x0cf68450
Oct 7 23:49:07 (none) kernel: Before = 0x0cf39651, After = 0x0cf3967f
What is this warning? Do you think it has anything to do with the rebooting? Thanks.

EDIT: Today is 10/11, its been up for 4 days straight since the random reboots on 10/7, so maybe it worked itself out
