I have 2 SD-H400 Tivos , one Subscribed and other non-subscribed (bought it off ebay as parts item, I hope everything else works) currently I think the HDD is bad.

Can I just image the working tivo and put it on the other one? Will it affect my GOOD Tivo's Subscription in any way as the "Tivo Mothership" may now think there are 2 tivo's trying to access the program info and disable the service completely.

You should be fine.

If I clone the GOOD HDD with
mfsbackup -s then all the images/animation etc gets blanked out.

but if I use the "-T -l 64" for mfsbackup then I cannot get divorced HDD.

I want to preserve the images/animation etc but at the same time I do not want the mfsextended (mfsadd) partitions from the good HDD drive.

What am I doing wrong.

don't use "-T", just "-l 64"
