I can't seem to figure out the exact history of MRV on the HR10-250...

It is apparent that in 6.3, the MRV code was not included. Therefore, I assume that it is impossible to either serve or view shows with other units.

What about before, with 3.1.5f? Was the MRV code available in that code base? If so, is it possible to enable MRV between that and a SA running 6.2?

MRV came about in 4.x Which as far as I know Won't load on a HR10-250.

That's what I was thinking...that MRV never has been (and probably never will be) available on the HR10-250. I was just looking for a confirmation to be sure I hadn't missed something along the way...thanks.

I guess my plan (and question from an earlier post) to get a Mediagate T1 working with the HR10-250 will be a no-go. :(

I was hoping to figure out a reasonably easy to use solution to stream content off of that unit to other TVs in the house without relying on an XBOX or PC.

You do know about MovieLoader, right? If not, look in the Insertion/Extraction Support forum for details.

I'm familiar with MovieLoader, but from my understanding of it's functionality, it doesn't address what I want to do.

I've got the 1 Tivo (HR10-250). If my wife is watching something on the Tivo, I would like to be watching something different in another room (without using a PC connected to the TV in the other room, another Tivo, or an XBox).

It seemed that the Mediagate T1 would be an ideal solution.

Of course I could extract ALL of the shows off of the HR10-250 in advance and have them available elsewhere, but that is a separate issue all together.

I thought that the T1 had a good chance of working, but now I'm starting to think it probably doesn't. I've actually got a Mediagate MG-35, but the firmware is different on the T1. I don't really want to spend $100 on a T1 just to find out that it isn't going to work. If I could get my hands on the T1 firmware and put it on my MG-35, I would give it a try to see.

Unfortunately, based on the documentation, I'm not sure whether the T1 relies on the MRV functionality or whether it is using HMO/HME.

It definitely won't work with a Mediagate T1 or any other media box, unless you leave a PC with TySuiteJ (http://dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53760) running 24/7. TySuiteJ would act as the server for your Mediagate T1 to stream from in that case.

BTW, MRV is a proprietary Tivo protocol so you won't find any standalone media players that will natively support it. HMO/HME are unrelated to what you're asking.
