View Full Version : Trouble getting past Initial Call on S2 6.2 Dtivo

I'm trying everything I can think of to get past the initial call. I have been reading, and it seems like fakecall.tcl will not work to get past the initial call on 6.2-6.3, which has been my experience.
I have tried putting on an image I made on another dtivo that I made just after passing initial call and it complains about hardware problems, and if I do a C&DE then it wants to do guided setup and then the initial call again.

It seems that running fakecall on an earlier s/w version, like 3.x or 4.x, might have worked to get past the call. Since I only want to run MRV on this tivo, and not have it connected to dtv, 4.0.x with superpatch-4all is all I'd need, if that will work with the MRV on a 6.2 dtivo. I guess I could also upgrade to 6.2 with slices, but I don't have them and have never done this.

So will using 4.0.x and fakecall get past the initial call? If so, I guess I need to search/post in the image begging thread.

Don't clear and delete, just use 51killer.tcl. It's included with AlphaWolfs AIO toolset.

IIRC, 4.0.x does not support MRV, that was added with 7.1. If you have a hacked working system that has completed guided setup (any software version), the best way is to download 62_dtivo_slices.zip from the eD2k network and install it. Instructions can be found in the 'Upgrading to 6.2' threads. On 3.1.1x software you could run fakecall, restart the system, then run guided setup without having to make a call, that might not work with 6.2.

As jt1134 said, use 51killer, not C&DE to clear the error 51.

Since I had an image saved post-initial call from another s2 dtivo, 51killer.tcl worked like a charm. Thanks jt1134, I wasn't aware of that useful tool.

IIRC, 4.0.x does not support MRV, that was added with 7.1. FYI, 4.01b supports MRV. That was the reason I started hacking my DTivo when I dumped Comcast & switched to DT :)
