Ok, I'm not alone. And neither are you. I'm getting EXACTLY the same errors, and changing out the power supply solved exactly NOTHING. Blarg.
Also, in addition to either rebooting about every couple of hours to less than 30 minutes apart... Pressing buttons on the remote ALSO seems to irritate it and make it crash. Lovely.
Here are my logs:

I had 4 reboots today while watching/recording the Colts OTA 8-1 CBS and NASCAR OTA 6-1 NBC. Finally after the colts game was over on 8-1 CBS and the unit rebooted during the post game show I changed from 8-1 CBS to 59-1 FOX to watch another game, no reboots since. I talked to a friend a few minutes ago and he had the reboots while watching the Colts game so I think it might be something with OTA 8-1 CBS. My other two TiVo units did not reboot, no tuners on the other units were tunned to channel 8-1, this leads me to think it's 8-1 CBS.

Sounds to me like Dave is up to something again, putting buggy data into the stream to get us to call in and kvetch so he can "upgrade" us to non-hackable HR20s. Yea... Not gonna do it. Too many of us in different areas, ALL with the same problem all of a sudden.... Smells.
I don't know about anyone else's units, but I'm not using the HDMI, I'm only using component out. No reboots since I posted my log, but I have the tivo extracting all the shows off of it and it's in "standby" so the video processes aren't active. Looks like that is keeping it online for the moment. Why would it have loaded new programming however, if the upgradesoftware=false is set? I can't go to the setting screen right this second, but IIRC, the box is only running 6.3c.

i'm not in indianapolis nor buffalo, and mine's doing it as well. rebooted at least three times. it's gotta be something coming down in the stream; i'm running 6.3b i think, maybe c.
i sure hope this gets fixed soon.

I'm in NJ and it seems to be every 30 minutes. I'm watching regular HD not OTA.... this is pretty annoying, I'm thinking of wiping and redoing the HD. Maybe DTV is trying to force us to go to 6.3c?

Couldn't tell you, the last time I was having random problems, it was that the box was selectively "forgetting" that the cardslot was there, and was telling me that I didn't have a card inserted. Then it bricked 2 cards over the course of 3 months (probably continuously reading and writing to them until they were fried) and after a C&DE... Was perfectly fine until the last few days. I REALLY wish Dave would stop screwing around with my tivo.
look like this is widespread, must be something in the signal from DTV.

The common factor seems to be CBS. Mine rebooted in Atlanta from the OTA signal during the Colts game, which by the way was heavily pixelated at times. I was wondering of the thinning trees was affecting the signal, but saw this thread and am now doubtful about that theory.
I also noticed a show recorded last Friday night on CBS in primetime did this, too.
Thanks goodness for this ... My wife was pissed the new endpadplus I *tried* installing this quiet Sunday AM hosed everything up. Perhaps not. :)

Just rebooted AGAIN, while NOT viewing any programming, and OF COURSE in the middle of a recording. Thanks Dave, Stop screwing with my Tivo!
It downloaded 5 files successfully, and borked in the middle of the 6th. But without me inducing ANY activity on the box at that point, it has to be something in the stream.
What software are y'all running? I'm at 6.3c with 6.3e sitting in MFS... I'm wondering if somehow they are sending a tivoapp status check and it isn't finding the version it wants, so it triggers a reboot cycle.

I think there might be something to the idea that this is from CBS...
I just did some checking, and the oldest program I have that is borked with a reboot in the middle is an ep of Kid Nation that I grabbed just to see what all the fuss is about. That was Wednesday, and it rebooted in the middle. Friday it hosed Stargate Atlantis, b/c it was also recording Numb3rs on the HD East CBS feed... Amazingly, Thursday was NOT screwed up at all... I don't record CBS on Saturday, and here we are today.
So who knows, and I certainly don't know who to complain to, b/c we all know how amazingly smart the CSRs are at Dave.

I turned the tuners on 1 of my dvrs to 2 standard def channels and put it on stanby. It hasn't rebooted in a couple of hours since. The other 1 is on CBS HD OTA and has rebooted 3 times this hour. I have another 1 that is unhacked and has 6.3e. It has been on CBS HD OTA all day with no reboots.

Hmm. Another observation is that I record everything, and watch almost NOTHING live. But I was watching the CBS HD feed yesterday of the UF/UGA game, and it rebooted on me at least twice during that game. I was watching on the buffer to cut the commercials, and I kept losing that AND the 6 minutes the dang thing takes to recycle.
I'm watching ER right now while the live tuner is still on HD CBS-E... And it hasn't rebooted yet. BUT, if the schedule holds, it should reboot in about another 20 minutes or so. It seems to like crashing at about 25 after for some reason.

I see exctly the same error in my logs. However, I see it as a Fox (WSVN Miami 7-1) thing. It just doesn't want to watch the World Series. I can watch the WSVN SD sat feed with D* locals OK, just not OTA. It will reboot on watching a Fox recording as well. If I stay off 7-1, no reboots. I'm at 6.3c.

More likely there isn't an actual HD feed presented that late. My guess is there's some bad data in the stream causing a "buffer overflow" or at the very least, delivering something to the Tivo it cannot handle.

ya know, I think 100Tbps may be on to something with CBS. My 540 took the 9.1 upgrade and all my CBS season passes were still there, but had "no future showings" of the nightly news. I recreated them. Yesterday I noticed the same thing again. I wonder if cbs/tivo is having issues. Also, look at the guide, is it "to be announced" at all? I noticed it had rebooted every so often and thought it was something else, now I wonder.

HR10-250 running 6.3c.Agree with CBS common factor. Sorry I did not post that 8-1 in Indianapolis is CBS in my earlier thread. I thought it was local OTA issue but if people are having reboots with the satellite feed then it has to be in the original transmission not a local feed issue.

So who knows, and I certainly don't know who to complain to, b/c we all know how amazingly smart the CSRs are at Dave.:rolleyes:I am going to call D* and get escalated to technical. I have done this way back when with the Fox OTA audio drop outs issue. When I finally called about that D* said they were just made aware of the issue. I said it has been posted all over the internet forums we have know about this for over a month. The technicians answer made a valid point, he said if you don't call us to report the problem we can't trouble shoot a problem we don't know about.
It has been on CBS HD OTA all day with no reboots.Similar thing here. My friends unit is 6.3d and my unit I was watching the Colts was 6.3d. My other two units are 6.3e. So last night my friend and I set up recordings on CBS, three machines total. About 21 minutes into Cold Case reboot, friend called and his rebooted at the same time. Switched over to my other unit 6.3e and still going strong, checked back later and no reboot, this morning still no reboot.
I definitely think this is CBS related, but I think it could also have something with software version since both of our 6.3d rebooted at the same time and my 6.3e never missed a beat. My 6.3d unit did not download the software into mfs or it would be upgraded to 6.3e. So I do have one machine to compare with my other two when reboots occur. I am keeping a log of what channels both tuners are playing on all machines.

Just checked the HD TiVo forums at TCF and similar posting there. The common things I noticed was CBS and someone had 6.3c/d and forced a call an upgraded to 6.3e and had no more reboots. This adds a few more +1 to the "my 6.3e is not rebooting"

Well I have 6.3e in MFS right now... What will I lose if I force the upgrade? Will I need to completely re-hack everything again? The reason I ask is that I don't have access to the junk computer that I use for loading Tivo drives... My only desktop computer at the moment is a MacPro. I won't have access to the PC for a few more weeks.
Oh, and both tuners sitting on CBS HD (WCBS National East feed) while on standby has resulted in at least one more reboot, 40 minutes ago. Probably more than that. One tuner is now on WNBC and the other is on WABC... We shall see what happens during the day.

Called D* got to technical, of course no reported issues regarding repeated reboots. Tech first said to do clear and delete everything (not gonna happen), he at least made sure I understood that if I did that I would loose recordings. Then I could try to make a daily call to upgrade software. If that didn't work they would swap it out for HR20. He was not interested that it appears to be related to CBS and possible software version. At least I was able to speak to someone with no accent, fluent English :), so I know we understood each other.

Well, sitting with the system on WNBC and WABC and paused on an ep of Survivor (NON-HD) for quite some time now, TWP shows uptime of 4hrs. Sorry I can't provide the files to upgrade from, but I'm going to try the upgrade myself in a little bit. If nothing else, even if I lose access for a couple weeks, there isn't anything that I want to download off the tivo right now anyway, so it won't be a huge loss to have to pull the drive later if I need to.
Actually... It might be nice to be able to load all this onto a larger A drive and get some more room... 550 GB just doesn't seem like enough.

Set up CBS recordings 8 - 11 pm on both units
6.3d rebooted at 8:18, 8:57, and 10:32 EST - my friends 6.3d unit also rebooted

Thus far this evening, I concur. The tivo is back online with the same network address it had before I upped it to 6.3e... But thanks to CBS's monkeying... I don't have access to the box anymore. I have two HR10-250 with exact 6.3c hacked software on both.
Both are connected to the SAT feed & OTA antenna.

An observation. Related? Maybe.
My HR10-250 was at 6.3c, and was rebooting like all the others. I manually went to 6.3e early this morning. Left 1 tuner on CBS OTA all day, no reboots.
But wait, there's more. Tonight both Bones and House 'were not recorded because they are no longer in the guide', but oh yes they were.
Someone suggested bad guide data was the root cause of the reboots. Possibly this supports that?
Just an observation, hope it helps.

After a reboot 20 minutes into Without A Trace from last Thursday the receiver recorded the rest of the episode. Strangly the first 4 or 5 minutes of the recording was from The craig ferguson show and then it abruptly switched back to Without a Trace. Craig Ferguson is not something that I ever record. The same thing happed a couple weeks ago. It said I had a partial (51 mins)recording of Bionic Woman. When I started the show the green bar showed I had only 21 mins but it actually only played about 1 minute of Journeyman that I didn't record but did watch 2 nights before.

Even if we are able to determine that the corrupt data is in the stream, I'm not sure what good it will do unless we find a way to strip it out before the tivoapp hits it. Ultimately 6.3e may be the only choice to fix this issue, unless someone is able to find a patch to previous SW releases.

I too am getting this dreaded reboot (have 6.3d). I record a lot of CBS HD and see my Tivo reboot 2-3 times during a primetime hours in the last couple of days. It happened yesterday (Monday, Oct 29) while it was recording:
-CHUCK (NBC) and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (CBS) @ 8:14PM & 8:54PM (Pacific Time) OTA HD
-RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (CBS) and HEROES (NBC) @ 9:36PM
-JOURNEYMAN (NBC) and CSI MIAMI (CBS) @ 10:30PM
It also happened tonight during:
-THE UNIT (CBS) and REAPER (CW) @ 9:09PM
It did not happen during the 8PM hour (recording BONES on FOX).
When my Tivo gets done with the reboot and goes to the last step "Aquiring Information from the Satellite" I get an error that "the recorder was unable to aquire information from the Satellite". I then do a "Try Again to Aquire Information" and then all is OK (until my next reboot). Anybody else see this? My strength is over 85% on all 3 LNBs.
This just in, I as I was typing this note, my Tivo rebooted during David Letterman 12:10PM, Wed, Oct 31. I was not recording anything but it just went to a commercial and then rebooted.

My HR10-250 started rebooting Sunday as well, DURING FOOTBALL!!!!!!!! The hard drive is less than 3 weeks old (and the unit was bought new by me the first part of this year, just not hooked up till recently) and it is running the 6.3d software. It has rebooted NUMEROUS times, and a lot of it was while watching CBS.........Weaknees (where I got the new drive from) first said it was a hard drive failure, then called me back and said I needed 6.3e.....but I can't get it to download (or even find) that upgrade. Help?
How are you guys finding/downloading 6.3e? I have forced my machine to call in EASILY 15-20 times since the guy at Weaknees told me about 6.3e yesterday.....but so far, no luck. Still shows 6.3d and I have restarted it several times (not counting the numerous reboots) and still no 6.3e. :(

i was fortunate enough for 6.3e to have been sitting in mfs; those without it will have to get the slices from somewhere. you can't get it from a forced call; it only came down over the sat. hopefully, since directv supposedly has visibility to this issue now, they'll start sending it out again in the stream.

If you can transfer it then check if it reboots during playback at the same point. No go on the reboot. Transfered "The Unit" from 6.3e and played thru the reboot point and beyond. The 2nd tier tech I talked to yesterday said other information is transmitted within the show content that is not related to the actual show we see. So would it be safe to say that the show appears to be fine but whatever additional information is being sent along with the show could be causing the reboot?

See this post (http://dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?p=285739#post285739)yeah, that's what i meant to say :)
either way, this isn't one of the cases where just one file changed and we can easily patch an existing release without doing the whole thing (one of the 6.3 upgrades was like that; perhaps 6.3a -> 6.3b?).

Has anyone done a C&D program guide and SPs? I am still sitting at something less than 6.3e on one of my unit. (It says 6.3b, but I am pretty sure I updated files from a unit I have at 6.3d on). I started getting the signal 11 reboots on 10/25. During the reboots I had CBS recording OTA.
I did a C&D program guide and SPs last night and have been up for 17 hours. Some of that time was spent on CBS.

Now that I see what files I've actually included and the post by ronnythunder above about the differences between 6.3c and 6.3e, it appears that the attached files could be used to upgrade from either 6.3c or 6.3d to 6.3e. Let me know if anyone tries it and has success. Remember to move your current tivoapp to a backup before uploading these files, and remember to patch your new tivoapp at the correct 6.3e patch locations.Correct me if I am wrong whitepelican. My notes indicate from 6.3b to 6.3c was tivoapp only change, if my notes are correct then people with 6.3b could also use this to get to 6.3e.

That could be. I haven't kept track very well of all these different versions of 6.3x. I had no intention of going to 6.3e until these reboots started happening.

I upgraded from 6.3c to 6.3e with no problems. Just don't have the buffer hack installed yet.
I find that 6.3e is faster.
I just need to get the slices for my standard non high def tivos which I have 6.3c on them. I use these as tivo dummy players etc. I connected one tivo to a sat feed to see if I can get the 6.3e slices download. Prob goto run 6.3add on it. Any one know how to catch the slices before it gets to the mfs then let me know and I will try it.
UPDATE
I guess there is no way of saving slices via the SAT. But there is a way using dial up or something like that.
I take it I have to wait for slices to show up on emula or something like that. Doesn't sound too promising does it. Maby need to do a total restore from an image for 6.3e.

So far on 6.3e for me, no reboots since I've upgraded it. The menus and other stuff is definitely reacting faster now, I'm happy about that, but I wish it hadn't rebooted before I had finished the hacking for network access.

Did you use the diff patches posted in this thread or force an update? Is there a thread on upgrading from 6.3c to 6.3e without losing hacks?
Thanks.

I updated my hr10-250 from 6.3c to 6.3e due to the random reboots and information in this thread. Interesting thing happened though, I found the 6.3e slices in /SwSystem and ran the script to update. I then rehacked the tivoapp with the 6.3e updates found on this site for encryption, 30 sec, and backdoors. After rebooting I checked the system in the system information screen and it still said 6.3c, I also found I must have made a mistake in my hacks and didn't set up my netconfig right or didn't run the script correctly so I lost my ethernet connection. I knew I would have to pull the drive but before I did that I forced a call the next day and found that the call did something because it downloaded data for a few minutes. I rebooted and the system took a few minutes longer, it looked like it went through two reboots but the system came up fine and now the system says it is at 6.3e but I still lost all my hacks.
Recorded CBS after the reboot (criminal minds) and watched the show 15 minutes later to ff thru commercials and didn't have any reboot problems.
I am going to have to pull the drive to rehack the system but I have already broken down and received the new HR20 to get the new HD channels. I will use the HR10 but not in my main viewing room anymore.

Crap! I originally had 6.3e installed and the harddrive went bad so I was forced to goto 6.3c because it was the only image I could find once I got a replacement drive. Now it looks like the 6.3e images aren't in stream anymore so I have no idea how I am going to upgrade to 6.3e as my Hr10-250 is almost useless since it reboots everytime I record anything from CBS in HD which of course, I have lots of shows in my SP for CBS. Ugh. Where is everyone else getting 6.3e from? Or is it back in stream again? My rebooting HR10-250 is making me crazy! Fortunately I do have a DTV HR20-100 also.
I'd even do a clear and delete on my HR10-250 and make an image with 6.3e if someone else can host an ftp for it.

Hey guys, 6.3b user here with the same problem.
My hunch is this is DST related... Seeing as it started last weekend when clocks were originally supposed to roll back, but they decided to delay it one week. So I think 6.3e has the updated DST date, but older softwares have conflicts somewhere, maybe with the guide data? My tivo shows the correct time, but looking in TWP it shows an hour behind.
I bet this might clear up by itself after this weekend.

One box I know had the 7:48, 11:13, 1:13, 1:58, 2:48, but not the 3:36. Exact same minute! This one has been held back at 8.3 till enough time to upgrade customization. I think we have a winner! I bet an upgrade to 9.1 will fix it. so seems if you are not at 6.3e or 9.1 there is a definate bug that gives an "Illegal read at 00000000" caused by something. gotta figure out the backtrace thing to see where it is happening and just bypass that code, if possible for the 6.3x boxes, no need to stay with 8.x forever on the others probably upgrade and fix.
Don't think it is DST related, but who knows.

I was thinking the same thing, about the issue being related to Daylight Savings Time being delayed this year. My second DirecTIVO (not an HR10-250) actually has shown the wrong time on the guide all week, yet the HR10-250 shows the correct time still. I am very hopeful that this fixes itself over the weekend, for I rest numerous times tonight while taping CBS, and its becoming a big pain in the behind.

I had them setting in the system mfs
But for all my other tivos that were not connected to a sat feed . they do not have slices for the 6.3e .. but since they are not connected to the sat feed they can play recorded shows no problem. But I would like to get them to 6.3e because 6.3e runs faster I find.

I'm finding conflicting information in searches so hopefully someone can clarify.
I have two HR10-250s and one of them has the 6.3e slice files in MFS as well as four 6.3e .gz files on it. The second one has no slices at all.
To get the second one working without having to dial in, can I just copy the .gz files over, dbload them, and then run the installSw.itcl to install it?
Of course, I know I'll need to reapply hacks, etc, but will that work correctly to get me that far?

I don't believe so. I think the problem is getting the slices out of MFS. There is another thread here (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56827) that indicates that obtaining the slices will be issue. You could manually upgrade the box that has the slices on it and copy over the changed files. I have done that in the past when the list of files that have changed is small. I have not done this yet myself to get to 6.3e.

6.3e .gz files? Where did you find them and what are they called? You can probably grab 6.3e slices directly from tivo's servers, but you can only get an encrypted swsystem, and therein lies a dilemma.

I copied my partition 3 and 4 over to 6 and 7 since I didn't have anything on there and updated the files from the diff and patched the new tivoapp nad changed the bootpage. It didn't work, rebooting after a minute on the splash screen. I don't have a console cable so I don't know what is happening at that point and am fairly new to hacking so I don't know if what I did would have worked anyways.
I pulled my drive out, reset the bootpage and am back up on 6.3d.

Hmmm... OK, then. Attachments removed from my previous post. Sorry for the problems, I was just trying to help out. It still seems odd to me that it worked fine on my alternate partition, so I'm guessing there is still some issue in MFS that is way over my head. I upgraded to 6.3e late on Saturday night ET. I haven't had a reboot since - even while watching or recording CBS OTA in HD Sunday afternoon and NBC OTA in HD Monday night. I was previously on 6.3c and CBS was absolutely the culprit for my reboots which started week before last. Before that, I was stable since upgrading from whatever I had before 6.3c.
Maybe something else caused your reboot other than what's been coming from CBS, or perhaps NBC started doing something. Are you on 6.3e or something earlier?

Did you get it new or used? If it is a little bit older, the hard drive could be bad and need replacing.........I know I got my HR10-250 early this year but didn't open the box and hook it up until last month....and the HDD was bad. :(

And here I was all ready to go and get the 6.3e instantcake image for $19.99 but since it doesn't appear to work and I can't seem to get my Hr10-250 to download 6.3e, I guess I'm really screwed and going to have to live 6.3d and the massive amount of reboots. This just sucks!
Here's what I get off a fresh v6.3e InstantCake install on my HR10-250:
1. Restored IC image using command "mfsrestore -s 127 -xzpi /cdrom/.image/00001 /dev/hdc onto a 250Gb drive
2. Booted Tivo with drive, did a C&D and went through Guided Setup
3. After it went through acquiring the satellite data it hung at the end:
bash-2.02# ApgManager Transition from state INIT to BOOT
ApgManager Transition from state BOOT to ACQUIRE_MARKER
ApgManager Transition from state ACQUIRE_MARKER to BOOT
ApgManager Transition from state BOOT to SECONDARY_BOOT
ApgManager Transition from state SECONDARY_BOOT to FAST_LOAD

ApgManager Transition from state FAST_LOAD to FAST_LOAD
ApgManager Transition from state FAST_LOAD to FAST_LOAD
ApgManager Transition from state FAST_LOAD to STEADY_STATE

After I rebooted I also noticed this error:

I noticed this post by AW, but I'm not sure if it's related to my problem:

Have you tried calling in recently? My machine called in on Saturday morning (was scheduled for late this week) and downloaded 6.3e
Took nearly 90 minutes to complete the call but it was WELL worth it. :D

I've been trying to get my tivos (2 of them, one HR10-250 and one HDVR2) to even make a successful call and neither will at all. I don't know what happened to make them both stop working but they both dial but never connect. I've tried rebooting both and then doing it again. Still no luck. I tried the add6x.tcl script but it didn't seem to make it download the slices either. It's very odd and I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my phone lines. I tried listening on the phone while the connection was going on and it definitely dials and tries "phreaking" but never seems to connect. Going to keep trying though.

Probably something you have already tried, but maybe using a different call-in number? I had some troubles getting connected using the same number I have been for almost 3 years (since I moved up here), but once I changed numbers, it dialed right up....

Forgot to put that in my last post but I did try all the local numbers I could and all had the same problem. Very strange.

Maybe give it a day or so, shut down and unplug your machine for 5-10 minutes, restart and try again? Or call DTV to see if there is a problem with the numbers for your area?
Good luck!!

swspjcd,
Also stating the obvious, but I take it you already commented out any fakecall or route statements in your startup routine? I couldn't get mine to call successfully without rebooting during "Preparing..." before I commented out calls to everything (netserver, TWP, custom monte'd kernel, etc.).
You could always try this lead (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?p=290262#post290262). I made an image too, although I think he already has it uploaded.

I should have checked my logs. Turns out I had a corrupt show in MFS that was causing a HandleDataChanged assertion any time the tivo tried to touch it.
-Jim
I just got an HR10-250 last week. I activated it, and it made its daily call and installed 6.3e.
Over the past two days, I've been getting a number of spurious reboots. What I'm wondering is, whether there's still a problem with 6.3e, or do I have something else going on (like a failing disk, etc)?
Has anyone with 6.3e had any trouble?

I'm not so sure about the CBS theory. Last night, mine rebooted while it was recording DwtS and Heroes, neither of which are on CBS.
I'm running 6.3d with all the "bells and whistles". DwtS started at 8pm, but was still on during Heroes when it rebooted. Oh well....I guess I am left with no choice but to move to 6.3e

I'm surprised that worked for you. I'm running 3.1.5f and experienced at least four reboots during Vikings/Chargers on CBSW HD (and several on 726 for that matter), and one on Colts/Patriots on 719.
WB
I didn't get any reboots but one of my 2 HR10's that are running 3.1f was scheduled to record 726 (Chargers@Vikings) and when I went in and checked it all I had was "Channel not available" and Wyatt Erp was playing instead of football. I was pissed!

I decided to let my HDVR2 call in first, and make all my mistake on the bonus room tivo, instead of my main tivo downstairs (HR10-250). I ran the script posted a few pages back to create hard links to the files in /var/packages. Anyway, I just let the script run and came back later. When I go into the Tivo phone settings, it says last call "failed while loading data". Is this normal? BTW, I still have upgradesoftware=false set.
Since it failed, not knowing what happened, I let it dial in a second time. It failed the same way, but what was interesting is some of the hard links are different.

Has anyone checked which files changed from 6.3d to 6.3e?
I would not think that MFS data was changed in the upgrade.
If the list is small, one could just copy or patch a couple files to get 6.3e
Just an idea.
EDIT:
Lots of files have changed, so this is not a good option.

it seems that this file "swsystem-105665525-2.slice.bnd" is not completely downloaded or corrupt as it's not being converted to the ".gz" format when complete.
Maybe try a different dial in number? The part that sucks is all the slices have to be downloaded again and If I remember correctly, you're looking at close to 2 hours of phone time. Best to try it overnight unless you're trying to grab the slices out of /var/packages.

It's still in bundled form because it's encrypted. You'll have to decrypt it before it's good for anything.

Just to add a datapoint, I'm running 6.3c and I've had three reboots, one on HDNetMovies early Sunday, one on Fox OTA Sunday night and another on ESPNHD last night. Don't watch CBS very often--but I'm doing an upgrade to 6.3e tonight. Gotta get that in before the Auburn-Georgia game tomorrow.
FWIW, I also have to wonder if the bug is due to the DST change. My DTivo was solid as a rock right up until Sunday, which was the day of the time change.

I was thinking about that as well.....except mine started having troubles after the "normal" DST change WOULD HAVE been........and stopped right after I got 6.3e (about 18 hours before the actual DST change). Like yours, mine was flawless prior to that Sunday (10-28)
Hard to say either way........but it has been almost a week with ZERO reboots so whatever it was, I am just glad it is fixed!!!:cool::cool:

One thing I read before mine fixed was someone noticed the troubles would happen at times when the "Press Thumbs Up To Record" thing was flashing on their screen. I didn't pay that close attention but I did see for the first few days after the upgrade to 6.3e that whenever that thing showed on my screen for CBS, the Tivo, slowed, almost froze and then started working properly (lasted all of about 5-10 seconds). It has stopped doing that now, but it made me wonder......

FYI - About a year ago our local TV station installed a fix for their hd signal processing. My VOOM receiver died every time the channel was selected. I contacted the TV chief engineer who stated that a required protocol fix was intstalled and that I should upgrade my box to the latest level. About 5 weeks later, the problem went away. The engineer stated that yet another fix was installed.
Hopefully this is what happened with CBS.

Is it possible that CBS is causing the reboot problem intentionally? Probably not, since the HR-20/21 don't seem to be suffering the same problem.
