I am playing with an old 4.0.1b 40 GB image and I noticed my Crond isn't running when scheduled. I just noticed that on this image when doing a ls -l or chown, there is no root user. It just shows a 0 for user and group. I think this might be why my crontab file root isn't running. Is there a way to reset the users in the Tivo linux or fix this problem. It seems to be isolated to the image I started with as another 80 GB image, I have, seems fine. I needed the 40 for a small drive. TIA.
Never mind. Found the problem. But for those who want to know... I was missing a group and passwd file in the /etc directory. All works now including crond. Whooopie......
