Hello,

My hr10-250 has been acting odd for the last few days. unresponsive, rebooting. I am running the exact same setup on another box so i don't think it's related to any of my hacks. this morning it needed several attempts at a full boot, freezing at various points. It's related to disk errors but i'm a bit of a noob when it comes to deciphering kernel logs. would one of you kind souls take a look at my log and see if anything sticks out. Much obliged.

it is running 6.3e with all the usual stuff. hmo, mfs_ftp, tivoweb, ncid

Please read the post right above yours. I think it will answer all your questions.

my vote's for bad drive. there are some uncorrectable errors in the log; while few, they seem to be in the root filesystem area, not a good place.

you might want to post the tverr log as well, but it definitely looks like bad disk.

I'm assuming that you are talking about the "HR10-250 Rebooting randomly over last 2 Weeks" which is decidedly not the problem and I had already read that. As I said it's related to disk errors.

Here's the entire text of my tverr log:

Not sure what that means either. My disks pass their s.m.a.r.t. checks should i be running fsck or e2fsck?

I agree with ronny. If it is a problem with your root fs, maybe you could dd copy your current root over to your alternate root and flip the bootpage, saving yourself from reimaging for a while.
