Adding MRV

I have two Philips DVR704s. I can telnet and use TivoWebPlus but I have never been able to get MRV to work. Also, I got the 6.3e update (not intentionally) and had to pull the drives to re-enable the hacks I had. I have various superpatches all over the place on the drives but again, can't get MRV to work. I have read many of the readme files and am clearly missing something. I have almost zero Linux knowledge, but am "help desk" computer savvy. The latest message is that 6.3e-01-2-101 is not supported. Would someone be willing to help?

6.3 doesn't support MRV at all. You'll need a superpatched 6.2 or 4.x flavor for MRV.

The usual cause of HMO / MRV problems with 6.2 and 6.2a was setting the IP address in rc.sysinit.author. 6.2 defaults to dhcp; it is also possible to enable the network settings menu.
