Is hacking the hr10 same as DVR series 2 Tivo? I've been out of the game for a while now and just wondering if hacking the HR10 using the same instruction as Tivo Series 2 would work or not? Thanks.

Yes, it's the same. The HR10-250 *is* one of the Series 2 Tivos. There are a few threads in this forum specifically about hacking the HR10-250.

There is one major difference between the HR10-250 and other series 2 Tivos. You cannot use the superpatch to install MRV since the functionality is not included on the HDTivos. HDTivos generally have an OS version that is unique to those models for that reason. The tivoapp patch locations will be specific to those models in most cases.
