View Full Version : "Cannot find server"

I just used the enhancement script to enable HMO and downloaded tivo desktop 2.5.1 (for the first time - can access it at 192.168.1.5) - and now I get the "Music and Photos" menu, but cannot get the Tivo to find the server (192.168.1.6).

I see the Tivo from Tivo Desktop (gives me the right address), but cannot connect from the Tivo to the server - even when I enter the server's address manually. Turned off firewalls and still cannot see anything. Everythings on the same subnet, and I can telnet to the Tivo/tivowebplus without issue.

How can I connect - I really want to get my music and photos "onto" my tivo...

nm - installed Tivo Desktop 2.1 and that works... but it only works for a while, and then the server keeps stopping :(

If you're using a DirecTiVo you must use TiVo Desktop 1.3. If you're using an SA TiVo, ignore this post.

where do I find 1.3?

Is there an open-source/similar program - I looked at galleon.tv, but it indicated my TiVo needed 7.something, and I'm running a hacked 6.2.

I think I found mine on TiVo's website. As far as similar programs, I don't know.

I tired installing 1.3 and get "Internal error 2753. TivoBeacon.exe.

"Fatal error" from the installation screen...

Program runs, but does not start tivoserver.
