I guess I exaggerated, I was pretty pissed. I lost UHD and HDMN.

I only really watch 4 HD channels (other than locals), so it was half the channels I watch.

I think I know what happened. I'll have to give them a call.

I had an H20 (no R there) that I sent back and replaced it with an HR10-250. So I have a 5 lnb dish, but no Mpeg-4 support. I think they only intended to stick it to the Hx20 who are actually getting extra channels.

I added this on the other post, but I wanted to put it here:
I spoke with the a DTV rep. about this and they said that everyone with an HR10-250 is going to be losing UHD and HDNM. Further they are going to charge everyone the $4.95 for the 5 channels even though they can only get 2 of them.

Ironically, I suspended work on TySuiteJ because I was going to eventually get rid of my HR10-250. It appears it may be sooner than I expected.

I will probably be dropping HD, maybe disconnecting completely and eating the fee.

DirecTV recently started charging extra for several of the HD channels, including the ones you mentioned. I believe there are five channels in the package that everyone used to get for free. IIRC they're also among the only HD channels offered by DTV that broadcast HD programming 24/7.

What ticks me off is that while DTV has added something like 70 HD channels, the actual content is primarily standard def for the vast majority of the channels. I know it's a problem with the content providers but DTV is using the hype to advertise that they have the most HD channels. I find it interesting that Comcast is advertising that they have the most HD content when compared to DTV. When you figure in all the PPV and VOD programs offered by Comcast in most areas then I can see how this might actually be the case.
