I have an unhacked r10 that has software 6.3e on it. The unit started experiencing random reboots.

I am thinking that the hard drive may be going. Does this sound logical? I have another 160 gig drive lying around and all I want to do is swap the drives. The current drive in there is an 80 gig. Is there an easy tool to do a sector by sector copy and then (if possible expand the 160 gig drive?)

Looking for any suggestions.

It's not impossible that this is caused by a failing drive. A sector by sector copy to a larger drive isn't the best way to go, however.

I'd suggest downloading the mfslive (http://www.mfslive.org/) tools cd. Boot from the cd, mount partition 9 and look at the kernel log in the /logs directory. See if there are any clues.

If you decide to copy the original drive to the 160 Gig, use the mfslive tools cd. The mfslive site has a command line generator; it will give you the exact command to use to copy everything from the original drive to the new drive, expand to use the full capacity, adjust the swap file size, etc.
