View Full Version : Sat signal software?

Hi All -
will soon be setting up an AU9 slimline, was wondering if anyone knew of a Windows based software that emulated a signal meter (like the accutrac 22 pro). Before I invest $125 on a meter, I'd like to make sure there is not a less expensive (but still accurate and precise) option.

Recall that the installation procedure is written for someone who wasn't able to make it behind the counter at McDonalds. A signal meter will make the process much easier, however it is not REQUIRED provided you have some patience.
One approach is to take a simple receiver (DRD420, etc) and a small portable tv out where you can easily monitor the signal strength as you tweak the adjustments. By equalizing the signal drop on either side of the 101 bird, then splitting the difference you can get the dish aimed properly. If necessary, do the final tweaking with the signal meter on the HR20; peak the signals at 99 and 103.

I have patience, I'll give it a go. I have an HR10-250 hooked up now that I could use (or dust off the old DRD222), but I was worried about not being able to see the 99 and 103 as the 10-250 only recognizes up to the 3lnb. However, based on your response, I'll get it as peaked as possible on 101 and 110 for now, then further tweak when the HR20 (or more likely 21) arrives.

getting signals of 90 - 94 on 101, 110 and 119 which is the same as my 3lnb. I'll be hooking up the HR21 within a week and will further tweak if necessary.
thanks for the advice
