Hi All,

I'm hoping somebody can help me out with this. I have 2 HR10-250's - one is stock and the other is networked & modded with a 500GB drive and Tivo Web Plus 2.0 etc.

On Saturday I had a tech out to the house to swap our older dish for the new 5LNB one. He also left two HR21-700's which are activated but not yet connected to anything. I own the HR10-250's and had no plans to stop using them quite yet.

The modded HR10-250 now suddenly will not play any shows from the NPL. However it still plays live TV just fine, is recording new shows and extracts shows to my PC just like always. When I select a show from the NPL it just flashes a moment and goes back to the List screen. No error messages, it kind of just ignores the Select button.

I called DirecTV support but the CSR really didn't have any ideas other than resetting the box, which I've tried.

Any clues ?!?!?!? Thanks

You might try posting in the correct forum in the future. The vast majority of sub forums here deal with hacking Tivos. You just happened to post in the one that deals with DVRs other than Tivo. Next time, try the newbie or Series 2 forum.

Thanks for the tip! I mistakenly thought that the "DirecTV DVR" would be the right place for DirecTiVos as well...

I suppose you could try a kickstart 57 and see if that helps. Reboot the HR10. Watch the LEDs on the front panel. When the left one turns yellow (after 5-15 seconds, usually), press the pause button on the remote and then 5 and 7 (leave a half second or so between presses).

If you did it right, you should get a green screen saying that the TiVo is trying a self repair. If it goes into the "Almost there" screen, it didn't work.

Some people find that their box never changes the LED color, some find this doesn't work at all. You have a window of only a second or two to press pause (if it is recognized, the right LED should turn yellow.)

Unfortunately my box seems to be this flavor (no LED change). Thanks for the reply though!

Problem solved! It turned out to be the same issue as in this thread:

Basically a nasty bug in TWP - I guess I should try to upgrade the software sometime soon.
