Repurpose box for Cable TV

I am new to the forum. I have a question. Has anyone out there modified their Hughes Directv Tivo box to be used with cable tv service ?

I changed from satellite to cable service and would like to modify Tivo hardrive and use the box with the local cable service. I have an iso image to run the software need to make a new drive a Tivo drive already.

The box I want to convert is a Hughes Tivo box with a 40 gig drive.

If you did, you'd learn that the box you have is incapable of being repurposed - the hardware needed just isn't there.
