Tivo Lost network - help getting it back please.

OK I've searched the threads and cannot find this anyplace.

I have a thompson scenium tivo (SW Version 2.5.5a-01-1-02) which I believe is a UK Series 1 tivo. it has a 250gb hard drive and cachecard installed and was working OK, I even had tivowebplus running. I switched to a MAC Book Pro running OS X Tiger I followed a tut on the web to autostart TWP. during the tut you have to telnet into tivo and chmod 700 /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit.author
I did this and now my tivo is inaccessible from my network.

Now I need to find out how to connect the tivo drive to a computer and re-set the drive. I have a the mac & have a laptop running windows (I know, both not 100% use) and I have a PC, more useul

I downloaded MFSlive and this runs on the PC.

Can anyone help me get my tivo back on the network?

if I type bootpage -p /dev/hda
I get:
warning: drive is byteswapped
root=/dev/hda7

I kinda need to either do this all in one go or in small steps as the Tivo is still working and recording, updating program data etc so I'd need to either do it when the tivo is not recording for awhile or in-between recordings.
