I have been through practically every thread on the topic, but keep running into dead ends. I have a DSR6000 running 2.5.2 with xplusz. I just installed a turbonet card. I can ping it, using its static IP I assigned. Can't telnet, FTP, etc. I am able to get a bash prompt just fine. I checked the xplusz command #12 thru bash, and see that telnet, tivoweb, etc are ACTIVE, although it also says "no process active" as well. Could this be the reason I can't telnet or ftp it? I thought I read that it should be "processing" also. DO I need to reinstall xplusz or should I manually add the FTP, TivoWeb, etc using Steve Jenkins' page?

Could you try starting an extra copy of the telnet server on a different port manually from the bash prompt?

Not quite sure how to do that, but I'm assuming I could, since I can use bash over serial and telnet over serial without problems. I just can't seem to telnet or FTP over the network using the turbonet card.
(BTW- I did several resets after making the xplusz changes thru the serial bash without success)

Alright...Ithink I found where I screwed up. I didn't remove xplusz before doing the (unnecessary) nic_install. So, I guess I screwed up my rc.sysinit file. My question now is, what should I remove, edit, delete in the file to get this up to snuff, or am I hosed?
I really don't want to lose recordings, I just want to extract them so I can free up disk space. Is it unrealistic to expect to be able to do this using TivoWeb, etc., or should I pull the drive and manually extract using the PC interface?

I must have corrupted the rc.sysinit file. I upgraded to 3.1 over the serial bash and BINGO!!!!
Everything now works!
