I bought a DB35 drive for my HTPC a while back thinking it would solve my stuttering issues when recording OTA HD locals. I have since found out that the problem wasn't related to the drive. The thing is, I see absolutely no difference in the performance of my HTPC when used as a DVR. I still get the same dropouts and pixelisation that I do with my standard drives. I was going to give it a try in my Tivo but thought better of it. My opinion is to save your money and stick with the standard Seagate or WD drives. I have yet to see anyone post that their DVR performance has improved by using the DB35 drives. From what I understand they're just rebadged Seagate drives that perform slightly better in certain aspects of the quality tests so they can charge a premium price for them.
