Slave drive went bad and now I'm stuck

I had two 100GB drives in my Sony SVR-2000 Tivo workhorse. Unfortunately the slave drive went ka-poof this week. After I removed the slave drive, Tivo is still stuck in the initialization loop. Do I have to re-image the remaining drive or is there other tricks to get it working w/o putting in a new slave?

You might want to check out the mfslive.org website. The MFSLive boot CD allows you to divorce two drives that had previously been married IIRC. I don't know if it supports series 1 Tivos so you should definitely read the fine print. They also have a Windows app called WinMFS that may allow you to do the same thing.
