I've been looking myself to death to try and find an OS CD-rom or software to load onto a completly new HDD. My series 1 died, and the os is corrupt on the HDD, i tried ghosting the hdd to a new one with no avail. I need to do a fresh install on a new hdd. Anybody have some links? Maybe im calling it the wrong thing?
Thanks
J

Check the DVRUpgrade website. You can download a bootable CD image containing the correct OS for your model. It's called "Instantcake" and contains a full copy of MFSTools that automates the installation process. You can also use the image from the CD and install it manually if you prefer. Cost of the download is about $20 last time I checked. Just make sure you specify the correct mopdel No. because they don't give refunds if you download the wrong image.
