The end of HD MPEG-2 on DTV?

I recently received a letter from DTV stating that they were obsoleting my HD receiver (HR10-250) and that I could get a free HD upgrade. I'm assuming this means they will be phasing out HD MPEG-2. I would also assume that they aren't going to mess with SD MPEG-2, as that would be extremely cost prohibitive.
