View Full Version : /MenuItem/22 reconstruction?

In a fit of overzealous advertisement quashing, I erroneously rubbished /MenuItem/22 from my TivoHD. This, of course, renders the VoD menu inoperative. I can just wait around for the next software update to (probably) fix this, but since I still have the objects for the current software version in MFS storage, I wondered if there was a means of using them to reconstruct the /MenuItem/22 mfs tree. Anyone done something like this before? Or have any initial pointers on where to start my research?

force a call home. the menu will return but may not function correctly for a few days. I've done it several times ;)

lately I've been fond of using the methods discussed here (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60427) for getting rid of ads.

I should have mentioned - I did this months ago. I've had many calls home, with no return of the functionality. Are you saying that you have blown away this particular menu item and had it return via a call home? If so, there may be hope for me to go that route - just a matter of isolating what's different between our respective configurations.

hmmm...

Any time I had done it, I had rubbished the whole /MenuItem structure as well as a bunch of other ad-related items. Try removing /MenuItem and any *MI* items from /DataSet and then force another call.

Thanks for the nudge! Deleting the corresponding /DataSet items was the key. I am now enjoying a nice episode of Flying Circus streamed from Netflix!
