First off-- Great forum!!!!

I upgraded to 2.5Xtreme in my Philips DSR6000 and I am receiving ' insert valid access card ' nag.

Info: -Just subbed card to DTV.
- Have re-applied 25xtreme image to HD
- Have not let it call in to Tivo
- Have bash prompt available in hyperterminal

Info screen shows:

-Software version: 2.5-01-1-001
-Tivo account status: 2 not set up, 0 days left
- Access Card ID: 'access card not inserted'

I am familiar with the various DTV hacks and this is not related to emulation. Card is in OK. Any help would be greatly apprecieated.

Thanks Fug2000

Sounds like your card is not inserted all the way.
Are you sure the card is good?

It does'nt seem to matter which card I put in it. They all give the same message ( 4 different cards -2 subbed, 2 virgin). When I pull it out it does give the correct nag 'please insert your Access Card'

Are you sure you are inserting corectly. Foil side down and front.
If you insert a credit card in the slot it will say insert valid access card. If you are inserting correctly sounds like the card slot is messed up.

Card is in correctly. Will open unit and see if contacts are OK. I wasn't sure if anyone had heard of this problem as a software problem or not. I wish I had subbed it BEFORE I reformatted. Then I would know if it was something to do with the upgrade. Live and learn.

I am having the same IVAC / not inserted problem.

Looking for any help here.

What caused the solder spike you encountered (whatever that is), and how did you fix it?

thanks
