A simple question on 25xtreme

If I run 25xtreme, and have proper TiVo subscriptions and proper Directv subscriptions and I plug in the phone line, and I DO NOT run touch to energize fixup, and install the unit according to Directv manual, what should I expect to happen?

1) All work well

2) Get screwed on next software upgrade

4) Get screwed next time Tivo phones in

4) Not work at all

5) Other (Please describe)

25xtreme does not allow automatic updates down the stream.
(or so I have read...Surgeon?)

Never read anything about 25xtreme not allowing updates.

This is an ongoing concern.

25xtreme simlpy updates the prom withh Bubbaj's fast boot prom and clears the the kernal of some unwanted info.

These two things allow us to get a bash prompt and also do some additional hacking of the TiVo if desired.

Surgeon was kind enough to include many of the current hacks in a the var/hack directory. They are not by default enabled.

The TiVo will operate just like a store bought TiVo.
