re: 25xtreme and performance

I've recently applied the 25xtreme image to my 40GB/quantum Sony T60 DTiVO and have immediately noticed two things:

1) Audible (extremely) harddrive noise, as in from excessive write/seeks [this is definetly new and not my imagination].
2) Incredibly slow guide data when browing channels (no tcl scripts or mvchannel scripts have been applied, just vanilla 25xtreme image).


Are these known issues? Are they are any fixes/solutions?

Please help.

Everything DTiVO works fine, though. Recording/seasonpass/dual tuners, etc...

Oh right, SubTest is active.

It take a few days for the guide to fully populate. The hard drive activity is simply the TiVo downloading the guide from the satelite. Everything will speed up and drive will be less active in a few days.

Mine has been online for about 2 weeks and I am still getting a tremendous amount of hard drive noise. Brand new Maxtor 60gb drive.
