Dear educated PVR hackers, (hehe)
I have a standalone Tivo that I am selling, and I am looking to buy a DirectTivo. What would you suggest?
Which model? Which mods? etc.
I already know that I want to make these modifications to whatever I buy:
1. Install the xtreme25 image (if one day I could ever locate it....lots of searching with no luck yet)
2. upgrade the hard drives (notice this may or may not come before #1 as I haven't done enough research to know
about that yet...but any guidance to HowTo's or places to RTFM would be appreciated)
3. Do I need TivoNet or not..ie what does it give me if I can't stream the shows from the hacked DirectTivo or not. (again thanks for passing along any experiences you have)
4. Will DirectTivo and xtreme25 work w/ hacked HU cards? (I don't have one..but just thought I would ask in case I find one under a rock one day)
Thanks in advance for any knowledge or info you can pass my way.
ATM, I was thinking about either
the Phillips DSR 6000, or the Hughes GXCEBOT, or the Sony T60.
Again thanks for any info you can provide.
