I’m real new at this so take it easy on me.

Two days ago I bought a Hughes, brought it home, pulled the drive, and made a copy of it. I downloaded 2.5 Extreme. I hooked up the original Quantum 40 gig drive to the hdc. Each time I run 2.5 Extreme it fails at a very frustrating 99.99% completed. I thought it might be a bad CD so I re-burned it. Same result. Any help would be appreciated.

What did you use to make the cd Image?
There has been many reports on this try putting it in your TiVo and see if it boots.
If you made the image with Nero use a differnet Cd software.

It didn't work in the Tivo. I am using Nero. I'll try another software.

Use NTI CD Maker 2000 Pro.

It's the best I've used.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

I have one more question. When you boot up the reciever for the first time do you need to have it installed with the HU card and the sat feed?

No, you don't need that till you want to watch TV.
