I have just completed installing 25xtreme and playing around with my new Hughes DirecTivo. However, when I was trying to install vi on my system (I don't want to learn another text editor) I skipped a step and removed the /var/hack/.bashrc file. I was wondering if someone had the default /var/hack/.bashrc file and could post it so I can put it back on my system before rebooting Tivo and loosing my bash prompt.
Thanks in advance!! This site is extremely informative and very helpfull
Search for hack.zip I posted the intire Hack directory in a previous thread.

I downloaded the hack.zip but it doesn't seem to have the .bashrc file located on it. The files that begin with '.' are usually hidden unless you do an 'ls -a' so this might have been left out when the zip file was created. Does anybody know where I can get a copy of the /var/hack/.bashrc file.
Thanks
I am looking in my hack directory and I don't see the file you are looking for.
I found it.
It was in the root.

Thanks for pointing me to that file and showing me the the hidden file thing.
I've been trying to figure out how to change the default behavior of bash finally got it the way I like.

T_RJ,
Well I guess my pain is your gain. After putting files back to original (at least I thought I put them back) I tried to mess around with the mvchannels.tcl script and my Tivo rebooted. Now it is hanging on the powering up screen. Looks like I need to reinstall the 25Xtreme image.
Thanks for your help, hopefully I can get this working pretty soon.
Bummer
We could probabaly fix it but it would certainly be quicker to restore the 25xtreme image.
