No showcase or Tivolution magazine

Still nothing.. third day trying to make this work.
this is what files I used

copy to /var/packages

LoadSlice dated /1/2/2002 I chmod +x it so it excutes

showcaseslicefiles.zip that has 16 files dated 12/30/2001 that I unzip.

using teraterm I z-send to /var/packages directory.

ran /.LoadSlice twice. I got error on first run (expected) no errors on second run.

I still have no show cases still not available for 3 days. Service updates early this morning and still now showcase

no Tivolution magazine. now just says no program

am I missing a file or slice files? do I have the wrong slice files?

Some suggestions please to point me in the right direction or show me my errant ways... TIA

Your slice files have probably expired. You'll need to load the most recent ones (within the last few days)

You can get them from one of the boards friendly members...



(BTW: Everything you did looked good)..

I don't know if I'm allowed to tell you how to get the recent files, but I can tell you that you'll need to HURRY !

They may not last more than a few more days.

what directory does the daily updateslice files download to? can you post the directory just asking

I believe it is downloaded into myworld directly as of yet we don't know alot about My World.

I just dont want tivo execs typing' *.slice" in to google
and having my site come up, then get a visit from some
lawers.

anyway... I installed a fresh copy of xtreme and grabed the
slice files for 1-30-02, there is a file in the new package
named irdb-77 that appears to be improtant you might
try downloading the new package and installing it.
and lets not even start talking about myworld...

now I'm getting confused. I will have to do a full re-install inorder to get showcase/mag? Then I guess I don't need it that bad. I just thought it could be added at anytime.

I can't seem to find irdb-77 file. I guessing this is a file from the nightly service update. that I can't seem to find it now. by the way I have rebooted my reciever and my rc.sysinit file erases my log files it's the ccc modified version. I don't know if this is making things harder.

Am I spinning my wheels? Anymore suggestion or is what I need in front of me?

ok I now have tivolution magazine and Showcase.

I guess it take the right/current slice files and a couple of hours before they work.
