What would happend if I install the T-60 Extreme 2.5 image over my DSR6000. Would I be able to use the Sony T60 remote? Would I actually have a SONY T-60 on a Phillips DSR6000 BOX?
Thanks

You would need the t-60 remote.
Yes, you would have a t-60 on the DSR6K

I had to really dig around with the search engines and finally came up with a model #. Found one place selling it for $55.90 shipped. I think I'll pass. I rarely if ever use my VCR to record shows off the DTivo so it's not worth reinstalling over my DSR6000 image. But if I don't get my free replacement remote soon, I may end up ordering the rm-y809. I'd been using my Tivo remote but I just sold it and the original screwed-up remote is driving me nuts!

It's not the VCR function I desire. It's the remote. I allways found the Sony remote to be more intuitive and better designed than the Peanut (having owned a SVR2000 before the DSR6000). Anyway, you can get the remote directly from Sony or $47 at http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ or you can check EBAY. There's one (NEW) being auctioned right now, and it's goingfor around $20 bucks.
