i have confirmed that the files are there , i now suspect that i need to follow instructions i have found in previous posts on the subject , right? you ain't gotta tell me exactly , but , there is more to it , right? or at any rate i have not started getting 900's:p , so ,, just give the word and i'll be typin in the required steps , thanks

The instructions are in the comments at the beginning of mvchannels.tcl Follow them.
To test if you can get the locals going:
cd /var/hack
./mvchannels.tcl -file=./channels.dat

uhh so i should start in w/ something like
./mvchannels.tcl -loop=0 > /dev/null &
??? fist thing? ,( i lost th bash prompt then restarted tive now i'm back)

Well, if I were you, I would start with exactly what I said 2 posts ago... Do that and then see if the channels move. Then move on to other things.

welp , i tried to follow ,,,,, this led in to syntax errors ?? i tried to copy the offending line to post , but this upset terraterm even more and resulted in bash loss , which i am rebooting to fix.

One of the reasons you guys might be having so many problems is if you're mixing files from the different mvchannels.tcl versions. The $min error was because the variable was named something else ($delay) instead. Formula fixed that in a later version.
I think I recall he made a change in the channels.dat format sometime along the way too.

what would the correct next step be as i have obviously screwed something up ,, i was usinf mvch134 , and i did edit the channels.dat file for my "locals" , did i mess that operation up somehow? thanks for your help
