How many times do I need to dial in for Showcases, etc?

After I run xtreme2.5 and let the unit update. How many times do I need to force a daily call to get all of the Tivo's functions? Showcases, etc...I was told one call would do it. Another person said I may have to dial in up to 4 times. If multiple dial ins are needed. How do I tell when I have all the features. Obviously, I want to get it right before I 'touch' anything.

I can only speak for how mine worked. One call did it and you can tell by getting a bash prompt and watching the files download into and then be installed from the /var/packages directory.

Also the phone call status indicates it is updating on the TV screen.

I appreciate your quick replies. You have answered several of my questions over the past 2 days. I'm still a little confused. I assumed (incorrectly) that I would let the tivo update and then place the call before I had a bash prompt. I guess I can go ahead and get the bash prompt after the unit updates and then make the phone call? I know it doesn't matter, but, I would like to make sure I get ALL the bells and whistles before I touch.

Remember I am a newbie here too. I will always try to share any info I have that helped me. But turn to the experts here for the final answer :)

You have the bash available as soon as you have installed 25Xtreme. When it finishes updating, let it make the call. The showcases and mag were available to me as soon as the update finished. Maybe that would be the most obvious way to determine if you got them. Just look and see what you get before the call and then after.

When the showcases and the mag appear, touch it and enjoy.
