It's probably in /tivobin. If you have the Linux command utilities loaded on your box, you should be able to find it:
find / -name tivoapp -print
If there is, it's a binary executable. These can always be hex-edited, but finding the correct one is the trick. I already found a pair of *_send binaries in /tvbin and edited them to use HTTP 1.1,...
Hrmmmmm.... I didn't think Ident.itcl was still present in Tivo 3.0.x software...
I recommend against running guided setup, as it may get you stuck in a process from which you cannot exit. If you can't download service data, it stays stuck in guided setup. I had to try more than...
This has been an ongoing issue with Series 1 networked Tivos since about 12/2 or 12/3. Something is failing on the Tivo end after the ZIP archive of service log files is sent back to the server. At...
Can anyone tell me where I might download the "Tivo PCM Boost" DirectX Filter module? Google wasn't any help.
Don't forget the guys at http://www.khitomer.net/...
They've got great quality designs available for download for most TV series worth keeping.
I was a Ro-Tel lover going all the way back to the 1960's in Louisiana, when the Knapp-Sherrill company in Donna, TX owned the product. Thanks for the link!! :D
Somehow, I suddenly have an image of Calvin eating a bowl full of Sugar-Frosted Chocolate Crunchy Bombs cereal on Saturday morning... :D :D
buy.com had it a few weeks ago for $99 with a $30 mail-in rebate. When CC had it on special two months ago, they offered a similar rebate. Pretty soon, they'll be throwing these things at us with...
Anytime... :D
Less than $100 with no hard disk drive and/or fans, no noise whatsoever, and a footprint smaller than a pencil box - - beats the heck out of trying to put a TiVo in every room,...

You could also pull the drive, and use Sleeper's bootable Knoppix CD in your PC to check/change whatever might be necessary to fix the problem. It's a *LOT* quicker than trying to re-run everything....
. . . as they represent a significant portion of the "noise" in the purported S/N ratio. Mainly because they provoke continued ad hominem "discussion".
IMHO, these attacks are worse than "noob"...
Just a guess - is the rc.sysinit.author file readable and executable?
cd /etc/rc.d
chmod 755 rc.sysinit.author
Second guess - did you edit it on a Windoze machine, and transfer it back? If...
You need to make certain that your kmem command is actually being executed during startup, and that you are patching the correct locations to disable scrambling. Because this location varies with...
If you have the older Elecard / Moonlight Cordless MPEG codec installed, it can cause synch problems on playback. Remove it entirely from your codecs, if you have it there. Good luck!
Just wondering if this has any connection with that VFR alternating frame count thing that you and Olaf dealt with, last year? ;)
On the other hand, it's really nice to hear :D that you achieved...
WHAT?!? No emacs ????????? OH, THE HORROR!!
(/me runs like hell before the flames bite my butt.) ;)
Thanks for the review. I haven't seen a lot of user opinions on this device, and really liked it based on the size, advertising, Linux use, etc. I guess the Gateway/Go networked DVD is the better...
I'm with him. The GOP edits I do now are fairly decent, and "not perfect" FAE is still better. I'll gladly accept something better, even if it's "not perfect" (well, according to jdiner standards,...
...and in the last message on the first page, Sleeper says:

My Tivoscripts are not on this ISO However, this will be the platform for the next release.
Single 7200 RPM WD1200JBRTL (8 MB cache) in my Phillips DSR7000/17 Series 2, and it works fine. Using a pair of hungry 7200 RPM drives might require a delay circuit to prevent excessive load on...
Riley got me interested with this USB 2.0 hard drive stuff, and Slick Deals has two USB enclosures listed right now (at DealSonic via Yahoo! shopping) :
