I think once you get around 1TB of storage you get the 0 hours reported on the system info screen. Mine has 0 hours as well so there is not an issue with the drive, just the SW.
crashHD,
you can make partition16 an type Ext2 and put all of your hacks in there and you don't have to worry about them getting wiped from /var. Just have a check in rc.sysinit.author file check...
none other than not using yac unfortunately
Smee, I have seen this issue before on my machines. Are you running one of the caller ID programs? or are you calling any text to screen command while booting up reporting rc.sysint.author progress?
you are correct sir!! I was running ./tyftpd.tcl -l -d & command prompt and when I closed the window it rebooted. I confirmed killing <pid> before closing window keeps the TiVo running, also...
I have been starting the program via telnet, when I close out the telnet window the TiVo reboots. Using directv hr10-250 6.4a SW, I will try to kill <pid> then close telnet window and see what...
any way to stop tyFTPd without causing a reboot?
{FSID} is definitely listed in STOR command for me.
telnet or Tera Term into your TiVo, from the folder where you have the superpatch file saved, type superpatch-6.4a.tcl from command prompt and let it run. You might have to enter...
tomc585 you have a PM.
Dbload files into your system, IIRC you load the swsystem last. You might do a little research to make sure I am remembering this correctly.

I got the update via sat when it was rolling out. I should have the slices somewhere since I created my minimal mfs file system, will look when I have some time to see what I have.

My install files where I created a 1GB minimal mfs 6.4a for HR10-250 has 7.2.2 for the kernel. So I am using the 7.2.2 kernel, static IP though.
It's been a long time, so this is from a faint memory. Did DHCP require the 7.2.2 kernel?
I have always used a static IP so I am of no in use help.
Yes your are correct. :)
I should have checked this post before I spent several minutes going through the program file to find the same thing.
Finally got around to playing with this.
Cool app! :)
Could do without all the TIVOR entries in the ToDo section though, other than that, I like it.
Fired up MovieLoader and tyftpd. I am getting the "425 Can't open data connection" and "550 Error: No reply from mfs_ftp_helper."

I believe the kernel log has some information for you. I would suggest using serial bash, that way you can monitor what is happening while the unit is booting up. I see the error on the laptop...
mfsLive and WinMFS restore with a zone map error so they DO NOT restore properly. The partitions restore the same but something doesn't work out right. I tried mfs_info by changing partition sizes...
I use WinHex as my Hex editor
I found this post for starters, had to locate edit commands and procedure. I don't know if it has to be the same space as the deleted partitions, but I did add up what was deleted and made that the...
Beat me to the post. I modified a 1TB drive with 3 media partitions down to 2 media partitions thus leaving one open for adding the extra space on a 2TB drive.
I even modified partitions on a...
You used WinMFS to expand one partition to 1.0TB, then on the second expansion it gave and error. What if you used WinMFS to get the 1.0TB partition then used MFSLive to try to add the remainder of...
