Its still a garbage statment IMHO
As long as they are active cards they don't give you grief. Took less than 15 mins here (including a reboot for locals)
Of course there is the posiblity that you could hit the correct postioning of electro-magnets to change the appropriate disk sectors, but that's verry much YMMV :)
Believe you know the answer then.......
telnet?????
Someone answered on TCF from what I see....
Jamie types too fast :)
As I said run the tools on bith drives and check the waranty status until a year or so ago I believe the Maxtors came with an 3-5 year warranty. I have seen malfunctioning drives become usable after...
Seems to me their was a post stating it was the same as 3.1.1e but I may be mistaken.
I would determine what brand of deives (Maxtor, Western Digital, etc.) They are and goto the Manufactures website and get thier diagnostic software (PowerMax etc) and run an anaylsis on each drive,...
Request number 2 is likley to get you booted from the board.
Neither will bring much on ebay without a real lifetime subscription. IMHO
At the time you purchased (actually imediatly after payment) you should have had the seller do the transfer online at Tivo.com and gotten a confirmation email from them. That would have confirmed the...
I would be concerned about any database changes which would keep you from switching back to the 3.1.1e setup without a reimage.
You might want to grab off the slices before runinng the update for...
The change to the scripts was made quickly when that was pointed out, why do you feel it is your responsiblity to grind this effort into the ground?
Quite the "fanboy" aren't you...
Please point out waht is illegal about this as opposed to many of the other hacks on this board.
Actually yamboo29 attempted to post this information earlier but because of a badly configured websever ( I beleive) he was slapped down to the sewer by a mod who should now apologize.
Just...
I thought the 19" monitor was big enough for my old tired eyes. :)
Most likley tyindex dying off, its a fickle little beast.
But TyStudio is just great on S1's.
You didnt mention what version Dtivo you have, if its an S2 you should look for the tyindex file from chrsturbo. Also if the shows are not indexed you cannot download to PC until they are, look for...
Yes I've been using this with TyStudio output files, it does the job BUT has some issues when the resulting mpegs are used with dvdauthor.
The developers seem to be keen on branching out to tivo...
Check the dmesg output in linux to see what size the drive was detected as, older bioses may not detect a large drive properly, you may need to pass the drive paramaters to the kernel at boottime.
Thanks I scoured alt.org for a while don't know how I missed that...

I'm still interested in importing into v4.0 folders from a 3.X.
Now that you mention this I have searched for quite a while for import.tcl (from mbm) without sucess, to do this from drive to drive for S1's w/o networking.
Great Il I'll make use of it in future, assmuing i ever make a mistake :)
Since I can't imply anything from your post what would be well tested?
Several hundred hours of recordings, transfers and burns from differnt units?
Or is there a set of testing requirments I...
