nope, sorry, can't be done. ;)

the main problem is that there are no public hacks for the hr2x boxes and they're locked down pretty tight. directv has, in the past been, shall we say, a bit aggressive towards people trying to...
everything in your post is true except the following:
"Must be a way."
there is not a way. further, if you had not previously hacked your hr10-250, it's (more) difficult to get the programs off...
well, here's hoping that, if they put in that many new chain-of-trust links, something didn't get tested enough and omikron will be having lots of happy prom days soon. :)
ronny
they are not compatible.

yes, in fact, some of the third party tivo "upgrade" vendors are now shipping sata drives with an adapter similar to this (not sure that this is the same one, mind you). i installed such a kit for a...
nice. i went to his/her cp and found this (sorry if poor format)(bolding mine)
suffice it to say, this user may be creating a pm, but it ain't gonna get sent. ;)
ronny
you just did. gone, gone, gone and gone.
ronny
yes, ronny is still here occasionally, but he has work and family and all. :)
sorry about all the spam; i usually try to whack it at least daily, but i've been lax. fwiw, the spam reports do *not*...
sounds like it may have done a re-install of the software, probably losing the hacks. probably have to pull the disk, sorry.
ronny
i suppose you could, but why? the cpu is very low on power and there's not much ram; the magic happens in video-specific hardware that can't really be retasked to something else. you'd be better off...

unless i don't understand the question, if your sp is not set to kuid, it'll do exactly what you say - keep recording new ones while deleting the oldest ones. it only stops recording if you set it to...
that's pretty much it. the dsr6k units have eeproms and one of the steps in hacking them is to flash that prom with a version that doesn't do the file system checks.
good new is that it's an easy...
mfs_ftp is pretty much the only way on the receiving side - i think your goals of "fastestest(sic)" and "easiestest(sic)" are in conflict, though. if it were me, i'd yank them all in tmf format from...
dreaming. the box has to be subscribed and have sat inputs to do anything other than watch previously recorded shows. even then, the only thing you can do is ota digital; the box has no mpeg...
it is not a tivo, i.e. it has no tivo code, ui etc.
only known way to get vids off is by recording from the analog outputs. sorry.
ronny
ah, i knew that. :) snagged tytompg long ago, but didn't bother extracting hdemux cuz i didn't need it at the time.
thanks for the tip,
ronny
ok, a longshot i know, but is there a way to convert audio from the xm channels to something more useful (preferably mp3)? tytool just gets weird and creates a really small (bad) file. tytompg gives:...
good point. i've made an "adjustment" ;)
ronny
you asked two different questions. no, upgrading to hd will not make them worthless, but no, they won't work with hd signals, either. they'll continue to receive mpeg2 sd signals as long as dtv keeps...
a cheap nibbler would probably work. i used this to put ethernet keystone jacks in my s1 boxes; just find a place close to the top of the back panel and start nibbling down. mounting might be tricky,...
