Would anyone be so kind as to post the custom kernels in TAK format? Specifically the Gen06.tar.bz2 for use with a Tivo HD under WinMFS
First let me say it really SUCKS that MFSlive and Winmfs have the same unfixed bugs they did 3+ years ago
I am trying to add a "B" drive larger than 1tb without using a modified kernel or wasting...
That is where I took the original combined SATA/Power cable and connected a power splitter to it. It was the easiest way to add two internal drives without cutting anything.
The plug is combined...
Mr. Broflovski on TCF posted here http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=7823170#post7823170
Is this someone we know? Was this image created the proper way (as indicated in this...
I want to use an SSD. I had a brilliant idea that has been foiled by the partition layout of the tivo. The purpose is to increase the responsiveness of the OS and database. I have so many channels,...
Try installing it with no ram. This disables the cache portion and lets the network function. What version of drivers did you install?
Connect the drive back to the computer and get a copy of the...
I know that partitions 1-9 can have the locations manually adjusted using standard tools but what about MFS app/media partitions? Is there a way for me to move the location of partitions 10-15 or are...
The mistakes and experiments I've made hacking my TiVos has taught me much about the inner workings of the *nix operating systems (including the variety of live cd's I used)
Would someone be so kind as to share the Hybrid Tivo HD image with me? I'd like to play with it (the one using the THDXL partitions but with THD files installed on it)
I happened to have my...
Yes it would with two catches,
Anyone sitting at your TV would be stuck watching the same program that was being displayed by the slingbox
You can only watch shows when you have an internet...
Are you still within the period in which you can return the premier?
Perhaps we shouldn't assume the second core has been disabled because of instability or lack of testing. What if security issues are the reason its not currently enabled?

In case anyone cares this USB stick installer for many flavors of linux is AWESOME http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/

I would like to find a livecd that has the GNU ddrescue built in. This tool performs the same functions as dd_rhelp+dd_rescue (notice the underscore) except that its integrated into a single binary. ...
noors32 is a spam account. The posts seem real but i have seen the exact text before.
Thanks to everyone who got this all sorted out. I now realize why a Tivo would screw up after an update when using the dirty THDXL image on THD.
Do one of you want to make a super clean image? I...
I am starting to think my drive is failing and that the onboard kickstart smart testing on the Tivo and Smart warnings are USELESS! My tivo has two identical MAXTOR STM31000340AS and below you can...
Any advice on how to figure out the source? I removed the drives from the Tivo and saw some kernel log entries that may help.
I tried to use Seatools to check the status of my drives (maxtor...
I am having a problem with my TivoHD which I can't figure out how to troubleshoot.
I have a few offending videos saved and wonder if anyone has a place I could upload a sample so some of you could...
Is the box with the "disabled core" logs running the latest OS?
That is a good image.
You have to use the MFStools to restore it, not WinMFS.
I suggest using the MFSLive bootcd and storing that image file on a USB key.
There is a high possibility that your...
Are you saying you already downloaded an image file? If so what was the file name? I can help you figure out how to apply it.
When the drive fails the data cannot always be recovered from the bad sectors. So hardware failure ends up equaling corruption.
You may even have spare sectors left on the drive but have corruption
You can do a "byte perfect" copy of the drive then expand the remaining space. I think this is referred to as the bumwine method.
That said I wouldn't do it! If your drive is corrupted wouldn't...
Plainbill : Jamie is right that I am trying to duplicated the WinMFS feature of "supersize" in a linux environment. One of the big selling points of WinMFS is to magically give you more hours of...
