Yes, If that file is bad, the unit will not boot, and you will not have bash. You would have to repair it in a PC.
Just run it, let it crash at 99%, then in the /maddtb4/ dir, run the setupcd.sh file (./setupcd.sh). Then you should be all set.
Ok heres what I think is going on..
The drive imaging fails at 99%, and the install script aborts, so it never gets to the point where it asks you to run tivomad or not. Soooo.. You need to run...
You need to run TiVoMad, thats what expands the drive to allow use of its full capacity.

Or you could use "stty BaudRateYouWant" command. And then change it on your terminal program accordingly, and log back in, no need to reboot.

The size of the drive really isnt the problem... Its that the drive can hold SO much more data that the TiVo has to sort through. You will not notice any difference until you start filling up the...

I too run almost nothing else, but do have tserver_mfs running all the time,(I just have it start in the background on bootup) and have never had any kind of problems. I have noticed no difference...
