There are dozens of relevant posts (among the hundreds). They are typically a mix of theory and specific steps. Those specifics get outdated. The most valuable reading is the theory. Cut & paste from...
VLC capability of playing .ty files correctly comes and goes with different versions. No versions, as far as I know, handle .tmf files correctly.
Not I or anybody I know.
Yes. Early versions...
For Mac tytompg users, here is a simple batch processor. Put it in the same folder with an OS X tytompg and a bunch of tmf's, etc. Make sure it's executable and then double click. All the videos in...
So far everything looks good. I set up all my Tivos with the new tyftpd.tcl, and set up movieloader on the server. First try: Tivo-Tivo; it filled the progress bar with green. No interruptions. When...
Here's the behavior I see (this is inserting into an HR10-250 from an HDVR2 via movieloader):
• The green portion of the progress bar is at a partial point (either how much had been transferred at...
Having just upgraded the HDVR2 to run 6.4a, it's now running tyftpd.tcl fine, as expected. File transfers are working both with an ftp client and via movieloader.
Once I fixed "repeat" correctly, typtp ran without error, but file transfers aborted immediately. I decided to upgrade the system on the Hughes HDVR2 instead; I had kinda hoped to just leave it alone...
If you got those ideas because I was indiscreet and mentioned a couple of things I shouldn't have, well good for you but keep quiet about it. I deleted that stuff almost immediately.
You know,...

We can't discuss the methods by which you can record OTA on the HR10-250 without service.
jkozee has posted a patched version of MovieLoader in the MovieLoader thread that seems to handle fsid's well, a big step forward.
Meanwhile, I have had little luck getting tyftpd.tcl to work on...
I am seeing no parsing errors.
I am seing some other errors on MovieLoader startup that I didn't notice before, but they may have been so buried in the parsing errors that I just didn't see them....
I tried that, in a very gross way, and then got some kind of background error ... I'll try the exact code you suggest when I can get back to my Tivos later on.
EDITED TO ADD: With that code...
While I'm having good performance with a couple of HR10-250 DirecTivos running 6.4a, tyftpd.tcl is failing to run on a Hughes DirecTivo HDVR2 running 6.2.

THANKS!
That worked fine.
I made the changes in message #53, but not the "." for ":" substitution for Long Date in the following message, and for the first time, tyftpd worked with MovieLoader...
Yeah. As I said, it works fine for me hard drive to Tivo, but I can't get it to work Tivo to Tivo.
Again, thanks very much. It was "as easy as that" in terms of from .tmf file on computer hard disk to DTivo. Can't quite get MovieLoader to work DTivo-to-DTivo yet, starts setting up the transfer...
Can't. He was there when the page was blank and nobody can ever match what he did, just as he couldn't match what tridge and the others did to make his work possible. Primitive environments and they...
I thought about that and said to myself: "Self, it can't be that simple."
Thanks.
Anybody given any thought to interfacing this nice piece of work with Movieloader?
Well, this is embarrassing. I was asked whether a .tmf/ty/ty+ file from a Tivo s3 or Tivo HD can be imported directly to an HR10-250 without intermediate conversion. I've never tried that (more...
Wow. No grass growing under your feet.Something, again, you say over and over again. It is probably still the policy here not to discuss the salvage value of the HR10-250 as an OTA recorder, but I...
You are a helpful guy, always have been. But you have this bug up about the HR10-250. I wish your wife would get rid if it so you could have a peaceful life with your DirecTV H2X knockoff. Your...
Here's my case for the HR10-250, in the largest portion of the niche I serve (at no charge, even though I incur signficant expense). Admittedly I also keep them running just because I like them.
