Getting closer, but boy am I dumb sometimes.
I found the suggested script (netconfig.tcl) and ran it on two (of the 3) tivos. I can now see each other, but here comes the big duh!!!!
I forgot...
I upgraded my DTivos (hughes DVR40) using the AW 62small image. Got the appropriate hacks working to get me static ips, usb2.0 drivers and etc working. I used the superpatch_67all_10.tcl script to...
Some of the unscrupulous (sp?) installers do a similar thing. They get paid per box they install and I know of MANY that will go to a house that just wants a single receiver, convince the subscriber...
One of the hardest things I found when starting here was to sift through all the posts and pull out the nuggets from the scree. The info is there but it can be very frustrating to find.
Do a...
I've got 50 of em if anyone wants one

My first thought is, what is your IP on the TiVo? If you are using a private network (192.168.x.x) you will never connect unless you can do some serious NAT magic.
In other words, routers will not...
Try using the tserver I linked to in this post http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44130
Oh, and 1 more thing: http://www.izsoft.dir.bg/ should be able to unzip all that stuff...
Thx for the help Bill, downloading the PTV disk now. Should I kill the link to my script? I think I should leave the other links to help people find the parts they need, but not sure if that script...
My new drive is being reported as around 120 hours. Could the problem be the bootdisk I am using? I vaguely remember reading somewhere that you needed a LBA48 bootdisk if you wanted to hack a larger...
OK guys, I've been trying to figure this out for the last month and I just cant get my brain wrapped around it. Time to ask for some help.
I found a 200G drive on sale cheep and picked it up to...
Actually he was being pretty nice.
Hang around here for a while and watch people ask N00B questions. Just be sure you have a pair of asbestos underwear available. First rule is read, read, read....
OK, Tuesday has come and gone, so here is the update I promised you guys.
First thing, I got my sh*t together and burnt everything I need to do a clean install/hack onto a single CD. Then I copied...
Thx for the help in this thread. My next day I will have enuf time to play with the new drive is Tuesday, so I'll report back what I find after that.
Kevin
Get out the Torx, cause you are going to have to hunt down your rc.sysinit.author file to find the bash stuff.
Kevin
yeah, I tried it this way -
make a directory called bkup at /lib/modules/bkup
copied the old versions in with cp xxxx
fired up an ftp client
deleted the old versions from /lib/modules
copied...
Tried it today, totally hosed my system, back to square 1.
Good thing is, I make great notes on exactly how I got far enough along to try and get the new drivers installed, so it shouldn't be hard...
Nearly the same, but after getting the mpeg files from the ty files, I run them through AutoGK 2.08. It provides a little bit of configuration, but hides most of the dirty stuff.

I've got a hacked DTivo right now, slowly working on getting 6.2 on it and have been considering an unusual question. Will a DTiVo with the HMO patched in work with a regular TiVo with HMO? If so,...
I have a Hughes DVR40, currently running a sleepered 3.1.1 drive. I would like to upgrade to 6.2 and get rid of the sleeper.
I have purchased a new drive and downloaded the 6.2 slices from...
Wasn't bagging, just pointing out that there are a lot of people that dont know about cables and quality. I would bet at least 50% of the jobs I do people dont understand why I want to hook up SVID...
Personally, I noticed a huge difference adding an SATA drive to my system. I was doing video work and kept dropping frames on an older Maxtor 40G/ATA100 drive when capturing video. Exact same system...
As someone who has worked in the content delivery end of things (first cable, now DTV) I would have to say there are a lot of people who dont understand that a better connection will produce a better...
I use a little different process, but it works fine for me.
I extract the video as .ty files, then make/edit using GOP. Last option used is the multiplex right under the "edit keyfile" option to...
Finally got .ty extraction working on a DirecTiVo system and can successfully pull down files using tytools 9r18. The pulled down files play fine (pulled as mpegs) in WinDVD5 and NeroShowtime, but...
